About Lymphatic Massage

History of Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage is one of the most powerful massage modalities available.  Developed in Europe in the 1930s and later adopted in South America and applied to the beauty industry, lymphatic drainage massage is now one of the most popular massage modalities in the United States, recognized for its effectiveness.

How does the lymphatic system work?

Our lymphatic system is made up of lymph vessels, organs, and hundreds of lymph nodes throughout our body.

Together, its mission is to maintain adequate body fluid levels, and to identify and protect us from foreign cells, microbes, bacteria, viruses, fungi and cancer cells.

A lymphatic drainage massage gives our overloaded and/or sluggish lymphatic system that extra boost, to pull excess lymph fluid out of our tissues and intestines, and bring the fluid back into the venous system, to then be excreted.  During this process, our immune system is also optimized.

Who can Benefit?*

Individuals who are healthy and want to detox, those who sit or stand for long periods of time, and those who have chronic conditions, such as....

headaches, sinus headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia, lipedema, lymphedema, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic venous insufficiency, Parkinson's disease, lupus, MS, dry eye syndrome, tinnitus, muscle pain, stress, and anxiety.

Oncology patients and post-operative patients also greatly benefit from specialized lymphatic drainage massage.

Individuals who want to sculpt or contour their waist, legs, arms, or face, benefit from Brazilian lymphatic massage or Colombian body sculpting treatments.  These styles are geared towards a beauty focus.
